A line up of 3 veggie power pouches on a counter

As a parent, you probably know better than anyone how important it is to feed your little one nothing but the healthiest foods and snacks. Because the research is clear—the healthier your baby eats now, the better the chances they’ll keep eating healthy their whole life and grow to reach their full potential.

There’s only one problem. With so many baby food companies out there to choose from, how do you pick the right one? How do you see past all the clever advertising and pretty packaging and tell the difference between companies that truly have your baby’s best interests in mind and those that are in it, well…mostly for the money?

With Sprout, it’s simple. We steer clear of the hype. And we demand of ourselves that every product we make meets the highest nutritional standards in the land. By that we mean the rigorous standards of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as detailed in their Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025.

Grounded in science and focused on health, their newest edition is a roadmap for eating right in every stage of life—from birth through older adulthood. We take their research seriously at Sprout, and you can be sure you’ll never find a product in our lineup that doesn’t align with their recommendations for infants and toddlers.

Keep scrolling to see a few examples of how we’ve taken their research and put it into action to meet your child’s nutritional needs.

More fatty acids

What the research shows: Brain development is most rapid during your baby’s first 1,000 days—and polyunsaturated fatty acids are critical nutrients.

Sprout’s Power Pak purees contain 300mg of omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) to support brain development.

More foods rich in iron and zinc

What the research shows: Feeding your baby meats rich in iron and other valuable trace minerals helps prevent iron deficiency and anemia in the first year. Iron is also important to support growth and development, namely normal neurological development and immune function.

Sprout’s Stage 3 Meat Protein purees are made with USDA Certified Organic free-range chicken and turkey and pasture-raised beef. Each pouch contains 10% DV of iron and 3-4g of protein.

No added sugars

What the research shows: Added sugars and sugar-sweetened beverages increase the risk of obesity and should be avoided during your baby’s first two years of life.

None of Sprout’s pouches contain added sugars!

Looooaded with veggies

What the research shows: Children under age two should be getting ¾ to 1 cup of vegetables per day. Scarily, 90% of toddlers fall short of this recommendation.

50% of our products are veggie-leading. That’s twice the competition—and one of the biggest reasons why Sprout is so popular with parents and kids.
